Alexander Walker – Musical Director
 
 

Alexander Walker is in demand as a conductor with orchestras, choirs, opera and ballet companies all over the world. Highlights of the current season include a number of concerts Moscow, Bucharest, Wrocław and elsewhere, Jonathan Dove’s Tobias and the Angel for the Oundle International Festival, Tosca for an International Festival in Russia and a Tchaikovsky Gala in Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall. He is currently conducting Romeo and Juliet for Northern Ballet Theatre.

He works regularly for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and has toured with the Royal Ballet to the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Operas in Russia, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Lincoln Centre in Washington and elsewhere in the USA, to Singapore, Japan, Korea and Turkey. He conducted The Nutcracker at Covent Garden last year.

He is a regular guest conductor with a number of international orchestras which include the Russian (formerly USSR) State Symphony Orchestra, Prague Philharmonia, Belgrade Philharmonic, Russian Philharmonia, the North Hungarian Symphony Orchestra and Belgrade Strings. A number of his concerts have been broadcast on National TV and radio. He has conducted most of Poland’s professional symphony orchestras and has regular engagements in Finland, Denmark and elsewhere.

Alexander studied with Ilya Musin at the St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia after graduating from the University of Bristol and postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is thoroughly enjoying his work with ADMS.
